We all love Marvel. And we all like jewelry (if you hate jewelry, this is not the right blog for you.). So finding Marvel jewelry on Etsy should be super easy, right?
No.
Unfortunately, most of the jewelry on Etsy that hearkens to Marvel is a bit...subpar. It took far longer to find these pieces than it should have taken.
Why?
Trademark. Licensing. Integrity.
Let me explain.
Marvel is a large LARGE entertainment company. And now they're owned by Disney (another large LARGE entertainment company). Buying rights to make jewelry from Marvel is near-impossible for any small business or handmade business owner. Take a minute and think: how many handmade jewelry makers do you know who have $150,000 sitting around to invest into a single product line?
Probably about as many as I know: 0.
As a result, the pieces of Marvel jewelry that show up on Etsy are sadly lacking. Be prepared to spend a pretty penny or wear something you could buy anywhere else.
That said, I did find a spare few pieces of jewelry worth wearing. :) Here's the cream of the crop. The 4 pieces of handmade Marvel jewelry that are actually worth wearing.
1. Guardians of the Galaxy Hand Stamped Bracelet, DustLily

Here's my first pick, and one I might actually invest money in myself. I love the simplicity of this bracelet. Because the charms are all made of silver, the beads provide a really nice contrast. Because the cuff is also silver and there are only three charms (not 12), you can wear this bracelet just about anywhere. $20.
2. Marvel Black Panther Claw Necklace, mygeekhusband

I love this necklace: simple, elegant, yet totally recognizable as a Black Panther piece (btw, have ya'll seen the new movie? Love!). This piece is ranges in price from $40.99-$60.99, depending on chain length and such. While you're checking this piece out, I recommend visiting the mygeekhusband shop, everything there is awesome: Thor Ragnarok necklaces, Shield keychains, Winter Soldier earrings...just do yourself a favor and go explore.
3. Black Panther Men's Wedding Band, MetalWendler

Remember that pretty penny I mentioned you'd be spending? This is one of those expensive pieces. But, totally worth it: simple, beautifully detailed, and available in just about any size you need and one of 3 materials (sterling silver, white gold, or Palladium 950). Prices range from $190-$1,050 depending on the type of material you choose.
4. Iron Man Inspired Ring, dxbJewellry

Ok, think of your friends. Who's the Iron Man fan? This is for them. In a manner befitting Tony Stark, this ring is somewhat gaudy (but not overly so) and rather showy, with a circle of diamonds surrounding an Iron Man symbol. The entire ring is made of 14k gold with black onyx for accents. With the option for sterling silver (instead of gold), this ring is one to wear all the time, every day. Prices range from $370.97-$1,774.19 depending on ring size and material choice.
