LotR and Hobbit Jewelry for the Middle Earth Traveler with Class

I just love Lord of the Rings. The movies were beautifully done, with exquisite detail and storytelling. The books were pretty flippin' great (other than that part in the second book where it's literally just Sam and Frodo walking through dry land...for chapters at a time). The translation from books to movies was done well enough for complete novices and longtime enthusiasts to enjoy together.

And then there's The Hobbit. The book is breathtaking, captivating, and wonderful in every way: great storytelling, compelling character development, beautiful detail, the lot. The movies...well, the poor book didn't deserve to be stretched out that much. Let's be honest: two movies would've done it justice better than the trilogy did. But for the complete novice, it was a treat, and a great introduction to J.R.R. Tolkien's world.

Thanks to the rousing success of these movies, there's some gorgeous handmade jewelry available for die-hard fans. But be warned: I've collected no "one rings" and no "Arawen necklaces": those are a dime a dozen. These 5 pieces of handmade Lord of the Rings and Hobbit jewelry are unique, and you might have to explain them to the folks at work.

1. Even the Smallest Person bracelet, by AppalachianHammer

I love this bracelet. Being vertically challenged myself, and living in a world where I am only one person, it's easy to feel powerless sometimes. The words on this bracelet are strait from Gandalf:

"even the smallest person can change the course of the future."

I love this bracelet because it's perfect for not only Lord of the Rings fans, but also for kids with confidence issues and people who are struggling with existentialism. $25 for this gem.

2. Sauron Ring, by UniqueHistoryShop

The detailing on this Sauron ring is just exquisite: the swirls are beautifully rendered. The helmet is easy to identify as Sauron's helmet (for any fan), and the idea of a Sauron ring is unique: you won't find a bunch of look-alike rings at a big box store, or in most handmade shops.

$62.10 to wear the dark lord's helmet on your finger (usually $69).

3. Hobbit Door necklace, by BlueKarmaJewellery

I have to be honest: you can find a lot of these doors on Etsy. This one gets my vote though, for a couple reasons.

First, it's well-rendered. This is very obviously a hobbit hole, and the colors and details are beautiful,

Second, the door actually opens (see second picture above). How cool is that?!

$12.65 on sale, usually $18.07.

4. Lord of the Rings cuff bracelet, by RHalasCreations

There are plenty of rings running around with the "one ring to rule them all..." mantra on them. But this bracelet (not ring) features a different, neglected language from Middle Earth.

The word on this bracelet is "memle" meaning "love" in the language Quenya.

I love this bracelet because, in addition to being well-made from strong materials, the script is obviously from Lord of the Rings while being a less-well-known language. $65, definitely worth is for hardcore fans.

5. Nazgul pendant, by UniqueHistoryShop

Ya'll know I don't usually feature two pieces from the same shop in one post, but guys, they earned it.
Seriously, where else are you going to find a Nazgul pendant?! $71.10 on sale, usually $79.

And that's the best of the best. Seriously. You can't wear the intricate elven circlets to work, and you know it. But these jewelry picks? You can wear them anywhere, and they're totally awesome.
